| Smith Seeds Ltd is located
in Ashburton, the central area of the Canterbury Plains, renowned
worldwide for top quality seed production. This area has fertile well
irrigated soils and highly mechanised farms. With a temperate climate
coupled with low humidity it is not surprising that this area of New
Zealand is ideally suited to superior seed production.

The Directors.
Smith Seeds Ltd was established in 1990 by Ross Smith and eldest son Grant, after early research
identified a market specialising in contract seed production - rather
than selling or trading. A few years later they were joined by another
family member, younger son Michael. These three Directors between them
have approx 90 years experience in the seed industry.
